Tambo FM is a proudly black-owned, nonprofit community radio station based in the vibrant town of Mossel Bay, Western Cape. Founded by Mr. Olwethu Ndabankulu, our station went on air for the first time on 9 June 2020, with just over 16,000 listeners. Today, we are honoured to be the favourite radio station of over 1,438,937 loyal listeners across both the Western Cape and Eastern Cape.
At Tambo FM, our mission is to bring the joy of music and entertainment to our diverse audience in the Western Cape and beyond. We are guided by the belief that "More Music, Less Talk" is the key to providing an exceptional radio experience. We strive to be a dynamic force in the industry, setting new standards for quality and innovation.
Through our carefully curated selection of music, we aim to uplift and inspire our listeners, creating a positive and engaging environment that resonates with their hearts and souls. As a black-owned radio station, we take pride in our role in promoting diversity and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of our community. Tambo FM is not just a radio station — it's a movement for change. Our CEO, Mr. Olwethu Ndabankulu, is also the proud manager of Africa City Football Club, based in Molfa. With 40 active players competing in local tournaments like the Mayor’s Cup, Heritage Tournament, and Easter Competitions, our influence spreads into youth development and sportsmanship..
Through these initiatives, we aim to empower youth, preserve culture, and foster positive engagement in communities that need it most.
In 2025, we celebrated our 5th Birthday in style at the Garden Route Casino, Bravo Lounge, with over 225 attendees and 18 full taxi trips serving guests from all around the region. It was a celebration of progress, passion, and partnership..
